The sheer scale of World War 2
We all know that World War II was a massive undertaking, but just how big was it? Check out this online map that shows the number of sunken ships. Open it on your desktop and you can click on the individual ship to learn more about it.
Speaking of World War 2 Veterans, I was recently notified by Sauls-Bridges Post 13 that WW2 Veteran and Legionnaire Robert Caldwell has reported to the Supreme Commander. He was 104 years old. HAND SALUTE.
Shake the hand of a World War II veteran the next time you see one.

Did you know there is a Veterans Creed?
On June 13, 2018, eleven major veteransβ organizations announced the Veteranβs Creed, developed through discussions starting last fall at Georgetown University. The Creed, presented on Flag Day, June 14, at 1 p.m. at the Reserve Officers Association headquarters in Washington, D.C., aims to inspire veterans to continue serving and leading in their communities and country.
The eight-point Veteranβs Creed is:
I am an American Veteran
I proudly served my country
I live the values I learned in the military
I continue to serve my community, my country and my fellow veterans
I maintain my physical and mental discipline
I continue to lead and improve
I make a difference
I honor and remember my fallen comrades
The creed is supported by AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans, HillVets, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Reserve Officers Association, Student Veterans of America, Team Rubicon Global, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Wounded Warrior Project.
VFW Elects Carol Whitmore as New National Commander- first woman elected to lead the 125-year-old organization
Congratulations and Hand Salute Commander Whitmore!
VFW National Commander Whitmore said to delegates, "I am your sister by mud, by blood, by dust, by dirt, by sand, by land, by sea, by air ... I am a veteran first."
