Special thanks to Steve Murray and the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs, VFW Post 3308, Marine Corps League, AMVETS Post 1776, Disabled American Veterans Tallahassee Chapter, Sauls-Bridges Post 13, and, above all, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1075 for generously hosting the Coalition roundtable.

If you think the Commanders Coalition helps your organization now, see what happens when you put money into the machine.
Our Constitution and Bylaws are still being drafted. Once the draft is ready, I will email it to the coalition for feedback. Imagine taking the best elements from various VSO constitutions to create a new one. Thatβs what our Constitution and Bylaws will embody: grounded in 20th-century principles but written to meet 21st-century needs.
Veterans Serving Veterans
I want to thank American Legion Sauls-Bridges Post 13 for giving me the opportunity to serve as their Adjutant for the past couple of years. Itβs been an honor!

Pictured above: Veteran Court Mentor Dave Marowski was coined by Susie and
others Monday for his emergency support for TVLC's Food delivery AND for
being a consistent and supportive Veteran Mentor for several Vets in recent
years! (On top of being a fulltime staffer at the Leon Supervisor of
Elections office). Kudos to Khalid Shafi, David Gerourd, Diallo Gaymon,
Dexter White and Chris Bodiford for the food distribution Wednesday to
several housing facilities, including Vet Village, Grace Mission, Kenwood,
etc.
18 Veterans and family members came in yesterday for the Legal Clinic at
American Legion Post 13, Lk Ella (Thursday). Our volunteer team totaled 20,
including 5 attorneys. Khalid, Valerie & Margaret volunteered with Susie
for the admin support today, front desk and computer records table. We
answered various legal questions (civil, criminal, Driver's licenses,
Veteran benefits, etc.), and made referrals to SSVF's table for housing, LSNF
for at-risk Veterans, and also to specialists in supportive law firms around
town.
Please make note that our website address has changed in recent weeks, and
change it if you have it posted anywhere.

Leon County Veterans Treatment Court was in session Monday with
no new jail sentences and Several celebratory promotions for Vets achieving
their treatment goals: Please note that the July 7 court date has been
canceled; plan to come downtown to Courtroom 2E on Monday July 21, 3pm in
the Leon Courthouse for the next court date; you may decide to become a
volunteer Veteran Mentor for one or more of the Vets in the program. You
won't regret the teamwork.
SPECIAL NEWS FOR ALL THE MONTH OF JULY: It's TVLC's turn for donations!
Round up your receipt:
Please support TVLC and do some grocery shopping at the Community Coop off
Apalachee Parkway and Magnolia Dr.
The Community Coop, formerly known as https://g.co/kgs/MCSmPiJ "New Leaf"
has a "round up your receipt" program. When the customer checks out at the register, they are asked if they would like to round up their purchase. The "rounded up amount" is given to the Nonprofit they have vetted and selected for the entire month. They will post our information in their displays around the store, and at each checkout counter.
This will help TVLC continue to help with gas money for the weekly food
distribution. The Veterans pick up the food in Quincy and deliver to Vet
Village, Homefront, and other Hud Vash low-income locations where Veterans
live. (AMEN)!
Kudo's to the Commanders Coalition, FDVA, American Legion Post 13 and Moose
Lodge 1075 for hosting the VA's Deputy Secretary for Roundtable discussions
this week (in addition to a similar event at FSU.)
And at the American Legion last nite, new officers were installed, saluting
Cindy Laskowski 's term as outgoing Commander and congratulating Dennis
Hall, the new Commander at Post 13.
Thank you,
Dan Hendrickson, for the Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative
As a reminder, Marine Corps League Commander Marc Dickieson will lead the July meeting on July 2nd at 10AM. For those of you who CANNOT attend, send me your intel so I can ensure it is sent out with the minutes.
