The Ochlockonee River Kennel Club (ORKC) is having a special guest speaker on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Karen Breakell, Manager of Major Gifts, will make a presentation about the non-profit organization, K9s For Warriors.ย Since 2011, this organization has been rescuing and training shelter dogs (called Battle Buddies) to become certified service dogs for military veterans (called Warriors) suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or service related sexual trauma. The organization recently paired its 1000th Warrior and Battle Buddy. One of the organizationโs mottos is โSaving two lives at a time!โย
Joining Karen will be K9s graduate and Warrior, Jonathan Cassel and his Battle Buddy, Douglas!ย
Please invite your friends for this very special evening. An informal social and โpot luckโ gathering will begin at 6:30pm, followed by a brief club business meeting. The special presentation will begin by 7:15pm.ย The ORKC clubhouse is located at 226 Merritt Lane, Havana, FL. This location is not all the way into the city of Havana - so be sure to GPS your travel route, unless you know right where to go!
