The new VSO calendar is LIVE! I have taken the liberty of adding VSO meeting times and locations. If your VSO is missing or information is inaccurate, let me know.
CONVENIENT FEATURES
You can download the calendar app from the app store on both Android and iOS.
The app looks like this. Just type in โcalendar onlineโ to find it.
When the app is downloaded, it looks like this on your phone.
Once the app is downloaded, you must add the Commanders Coalition Calendar to your app.
This is the link to the Coalition Calendar. Just copy this code and enter it into the form. If you donโt want to download the app, you can always see the calendar at www.commanderscoalition.org OR by going directly to the calendar itself by pasting the link into a web browser.

Once you download the calendar, can you even sign up for updates. Meaning, if I change an event on the calendar, calendar subscribers get notified in real time.
This gives Commanders the ability to see Veterans events changing in real time. No more phone and email tag.
The next quarterly AFA Bud West Chapter meeting is fast approaching; it'll be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Golden Corral on N. Monroe Street. Several items are on the agenda - including the unveiling of the new POW/MIA Memorial at the Tallahassee National Cemetery - which is now scheduled for Thursday, Sept 18, 2025 at 9 AM (the same week as National POW/MIA Week).
In addition, our annual state convention will be held this Saturday (July 19, 2025) at MacDill AFB in Tampa - sponsored by the Waterman-Twining Chapter. Please let me know if any of you have any questions you would like to have addressed to our state leadership. Highlights of the state convention will be addressed at our quarterly meeting.
Beginning with this AFA quarterly meeting - we'll have a designated box/bag with which to donate various food items (should be non-perishable items). The donated food items will then be delivered to our local Veterans Village.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Take care and enjoy.

In all, our walk-in Legal Clinic worked with 17 Veterans and family members
yesterday, plus 6 Vets by phone, at American Legion Post 13, Lk Ella
(Thursday). Our volunteer team totaled 15, including 5 attorneys. Khalid,
Kathy & Margaret volunteered with Susie for the admin support today, front
desk and computer records table). We answered various legal questions
(housing, civil, criminal, Driver's licenses, Veteran benefits, etc.), and
made referrals to specialists in supportive law firms around town and
around the state. Kudos this week to Khalid Shafi, David Gerourd, Gregory
Howard, and Chris Bodiford, for the food distribution Wednesday including to
Homefront and Grace Mission. The team also volunteered moving furniture for
an appreciative FSU law student who had helped at the Clinic before
graduating. Way to go, team.
Leon County Veterans Treatment Court: Please plan to come downtown to Courtroom 2E on Monday July 21, 3pm in the Leon Courthouse for the next court date; you may decide to become a volunteer Veteran Mentor for one or more of the Vets in the program. You won't regret the teamwork.
We also were visited yesterday by Rick and Cathy Bridges, American Legion leaders from Polk County, as they prepare to help organize a Poker Run here to benefit the Tallahassee Civic Chorale, who are sharing the proceeds with TVLC. Save the date: Saturday, October 18. Let us know if you
can join in, helping us host the several stops for the Riders that day!
Thank you, Post 13!
And speaking of fund-raising, SPECIAL NEWS FOR ALL THE MONTH OF JULY: It's TVLC's turn for donations! Round up your receipt:
Please support TVLC and do some grocery shopping at the Community Co-op off Apalachee Parkway and Magnolia Dr.
The Community Co-op, formerly known as "NewLeaf" has a "round up your receipt" program. https://g.co/kgs/MCSmPiJ
When the customer checks out at the register, please let the cashier know
you would like to make a donation, and round up your purchase or even donate
a specific amount.
The "rounded up amount" is given to the Nonprofit they have vetted and
selected for the entire month. They will post our information in their
displays around the store, and at each checkout counter.
This will help TVLC continue to help with driver's license reinstatements
and gas money for the weekly food distribution. The Veterans pick up the
food in Quincy and deliver to Vet Village, Homefront, and other Hud Vash
low-income locations where Veterans live!
Thank you,
Dan Hendrickson, for the Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative
