Are you passionate about improving Veteran health care? Applications to the Veterans Health Hackathon 2025 are open to all innovators and problem solvers—from frontline clinicians to engineers and artists—ready to design solutions that address the top challenges in Veteran care. Those selected for the Hackathon will join a community of VA frontline staff, Veterans, students, and entrepreneurs for the three-day event in Tampa, Florida, August 22-24.
The Hackathon and the full innovation pipeline fostered by Veterans Health Venture Studio operates as a public-private collaboration, pulling the best resources, tools, and talent from inside and out of VA to make a lasting impact. This year’s Hackathon, hosted by the Tampa VA Medical Center, is powered by Microsoft Artificial Intelligence Technology and MIT Hacking Medicine and is held in collaboration with The American Legion.
This year’s Hackathon tackles key challenges by focusing problem solving on three tracks:
Timely Access to Care—accelerating access and reducing the time from request to care delivery.
Optimizing Enterprise-wide Costs and Operational Efficiency—reimagining core operational systems to reduce waste, improve resource utilization, and reinvest savings into better Veteran care.
Improving Community Care Coordination—strengthening coordination between VA and community partners to preserve continuity of care for Veterans.
