Happy Thanksgiving Commander 🦃
Thank you for saying yes when others said no
Today is Thanksgiving.
I want to personally thank YOU for continuing to serving your fellow Veterans long after you hung up the uniform.
You didn’t have to do this. There’s no pay, and the hours are terrible.
You could have called it a day.
But you and I both know we’re cut from a different cloth. The call to serve our brothers and sisters is too strong. The need is too great.
There is a Hebrew word—הִנֵּֽנִי (pronounced “hineni”)—that literally means “Here I am.”
But it’s not casual. It is a profound, total response of availability, readiness, and surrender to a higher call.
In Jewish and Christian thought, “hineni” is not just “I’m physically here.”
It is “I am fully present, listening, and ready to do whatever is asked—no reservations.”
That is what it means to be a Commander: true selflessness and total availability.
So today, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our Veterans.
I pray you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
