📌 12 November 2025 11AM
Members of the Tallahassee Veterans’ Coalition.
On behalf of FDVA Executive Director James S. Hartsell, you are invited to attend a major event commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.
To mark the 250th anniversary, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation is leading a series of commemorative events to celebrate this historic national milestone. An important element is the 50 State Birthday Celebration - a nationwide effort to host Marine Corps cake-cutting ceremonies in every state capital. The Marine Corps birthday cake-cutting ceremony is a deeply meaningful tradition that symbolizes the renewal of each Marine’s commitment to the Corps.
Florida’s cake-cutting ceremony honoring the Marine Corps 250th Anniversary is scheduled in Tallahassee for Wednesday, November 12 at 11 a.m. in the Capitol’s Fourth Floor Rotunda. The ceremony should last about 30 minutes. We hope you can join us and honor us with your presence.
