Hi My name is Brittany Barnes. I’m a mental health therapist and counselor based here in Jackson County. In addition to my work in the counseling and therapy field, I also serve as a field advocate, social media coordinator, and board member on Board of Director for the American Foundation Suicide Prevention Organization Florida Panhandle Chapter. My passion and advocacy for suicide prevention awareness is a result of me being a suicide loss survivor experiencing the loss of a family member and close friend to suicide.
On September 28th, 2024, at 9 am. to 12 noon , with walk kicking off at 10 a.m. at Citizens Lodge Park located in Marianna, I will be hosting Marianna, Jackson County’s first American Foundation Suicide Prevention “Out of Darkness” Community Walk and mental health event for the community to participate in the fight against suicide and obtain mental health and behavioral healthcare resources.
I’m reaching out to your agency, business, and organization to ask for a sponsorship and donation to the fundraising cause and mission of suicide prevention awareness that will be contributed to areas of advocacy, suicide prevention awareness programs, education, research , and sociopolitical laws and issues as it relates to suicide prevention awareness and mental health.
